Some of our girls traveled to Virginia to play against William and Mary for a playoff match!!
We may not have come home with the win, but we had a great time in Virginia. We played with a lot of heart, passion, and soul-- win or lose, we love playing rugby with this team!!
Next Saturday, our fall season comes to an official close at our alumni game. Looking forward to seeing some old faces and kicking some alumni butt!!
For our final home game of the regular season, we played GW here at home. With GW making the first try of the game, we knew we were in for a good fight. But, with the help of some familiar faces, we left Engineering Field with the win!!
A HUGE thank you to our loyal alumni (5th pic) for coming out and helping us secure our win. Nothing makes us happier than getting to be on the pitch with Ruggers old and new.
And we can't wait to see them in a couple of weeks for our alumni match!!
Whether rain or shine, the rugby doesn't stop.
We travelled to Mary Washington today for a B-side game. After an unexpected intermission due to thunder, we got right back on the field. We may not have come home with the win, but we had a great time with Mary Wash! We were so grateful for their hospitality (and lunch)!
Congratulations to Becca for scoring a try today!!
Next week, we're at Walker Mill field in D.C. with Salisbury University for our third matrix match of the season. We hope to see you there!
What a fantastic game this afternoon!
We travelled to play our friends at JHU, and came back home with a 78-17 win, keeping our season at 2 and 0. Congratulations to all of our ruggers that scored tries this weekend (3rd photo, left to right; TOP ROW: Ada Beams, Abby Dalmacio, Deanna Elmendorf, Hima Koduru; MIDDLE ROW: Lexus Thorn, Heather Fettke, Nicole Needelman, Tascha Mills; FRONT: Linda Lee).
After the game, JHU treated us to pizza and sandwiches on the sideline. We love spending time with other teams!
Next weekend, we'll be at Mary Wash for a B-side game. We can't wait!
To kick off the fall season, we had an amazing game...against ourselves! The UMD All-Blacks vs. the UMD Fire Nation this morning for a friendly match. After a hard fight, the All-Blacks came out on top!
We were so happy to have Terps new and old (alumni too!) play in our first game of the season. We can't wait to head to Johns Hopkins this coming Saturday for our first matrix match!
First Look Fair day one was such a huge success!
We spent most of the day out in the sun on McKeldin Mall for our biggest recruiting event of the year.
Speaking of big...we got over 150 girls to sign up in just one day! We're so excited that so many women are interested in playing rugby with us! This season looks like it's going to be a GREAT one! We are thrilled that our family is growing!
Tomorrow, the recruiting continues on the final day of First Look Fair '19. I wonder if we can double the number we got today...
Happy first day of classes, everyone! Before summer officially came to a close, some of our girls traveled to Virginia Beach for their first annual USA Beach Rugby tournament! The Sea-Terptles (cute team name, huh?) competed in the touch tournament, and ended the day in fourth place. They had a blast in the sun and the sand, and didn't leave without diving in to the water once or twice!
Couldn't have asked for a more perfect last weekend of summer! Now we're so pumped for the fall season to start in a couple of weeks!
We looked back on a great season at the end of the year potluck banquet at Kimberly's house! We kicked back for our last team event of the season with great food, volleyball, and lots of fun! Thanks so much to the Hubscher family for hosting the event!
We had such an amazing season and we can't wait until the fall!
This past weekend, we closed off an amazing season by taking home the second place collegiate trophy at this year's Ruggerfest Tournament! We had a rugby-filled sun-shiny weekend on Saturday and Sunday at Rosecroft Raceway, and we wouldn't have had it any other way! And of course, we couldn't come back to CP without stopping at Rita's for some well-deserved ice-cream first...
We are sad the season is officially over, and we already can't wait for the fall!
Next stop: the end-of-the-year banquet this coming Saturday!
What an amazing Saturday!
We geared up early this morning and headed to Xfinity for our senior match against St. Mary's. We can't think of a better way to celebrate our seniors than with a big win! With a final score of 84-7, we did just that. Congratulations to everyone who scored a try today (1st photo, from left to right: Deanna Elmendorf, Becca Roseberry, Katie Manganelli, Micaela Ada, Nicole Needelman, Paige Qi, Kimberly Hubscher, Anna Collishaw, and Mackenzie Davis), and to our lovely seniors for a great game! We are so proud of you, and we love you so much!
